ALUX BRANDS Founder-Charlie McCoy shares how he launched Artisan Barber brand in New York| PART ONE

Charlie McCoy is a Master Barber turned entrepreneur with two successful businesses in New York City. He founded his barber shop Artisan Barber and unisex luxury salon, Orchard & Ludlow in the Upper East Side and Lower East Side, respectfully. McCoy spent years as a Master Barber for L’Oreal’s Kiehl’s Since 1851 for years before deciding to venture out on his own and take his loyal clients with him.

He has established a community around his businesses by working with local artists in the surrounding areas of his establishment. His salon Orchard & Ludlow doubles as an art gallery where New York native and artist Mark West is showcasing his work. McCoy hasn’t let Covid-19 ruin his momentum or the success of his small businesses, just this year he launched three new brands with two out of the three being in completely different industries than the haircare industry he is fond of.

Artisan Luxury Brands is a consumer goods company that functions as the parent company to Artisan Barber, Orchard & Ludlow and his two other new brands The Grooming Alchemist and Artisan Media Group. The Grooming Alchemist is a men’s lifestyle hub, that caters especially to former Jehovah’s Witnesses who need some guidance and inspiration after leaving the religion.

McCoy’s Artisan Media Group is his creative marketing agency that focuses on creating various types of content from video and photography content to social media content. The latter two brands is McCoy’s way of channeling everything he has learned over the years about business and people into a new passion of his.
