Artisan Barber is thrilled to introduce a dazzling new addition to our shop: a pop-up featuring Kai, the creative genius behind First Person Studios. With a stunning array of fine jewelry, including custom grills, elegant pendants, and personalized rings and charms, Kaiβs work embodies the perfect fusion of artistry and craftsmanship. This holiday season, treat yourself or someone special to a one-of-a-kind piece from Kaiβs collection.
Originally from Dallas, Kaiβs journey to New York began in 2017 after touring the U.S. and Europe while working with a musician. Given the choice to settle in New York or L.A., she chose the energy and inspiration of the Big Apple. Her passion for fine jewelry began in 2021 while working with a jeweler, and by 2022, she had launched her own brand, First Person Studios.
βMy approach to making jewelry is really collaborative,β Kai shares. βI work with clients to design their piece. Itβs very interpersonal, and I find that the pieces come out better because of it.β
Kai specializes in crafting with fine metals and stones, avoiding any plated materials to ensure that each piece exudes quality and sophistication. Among her most memorable creations are a pearl tooth pendant she designed for herself and a sapphire ring, both of which showcase her unique blend of boldness and refinement.

When sheβs not crafting her extraordinary designs, Kai finds inspiration in the city she loves. One of her favorite pastimes is taking the train past her stop to Columbus Circle, strolling through Central Park, and walking to the Diamond District. This ritual not only helps her clear her mind but also fuels her creativity, infusing her work with the rhythm and vibrancy of New York.
